Icefresh Foods Ltd, the team behind Minions Ice Cream and Ice Lollies, is celebrating their second big win at the national Licensing Awards.
Icefresh Foods, beat off tough competition, including Finsbury Foods and Thorntons PLC to become a winner yet again in the prestigious industry awards, taking home the trophy for this year’s “Best Licensed Food or Drink range” category for their Minions Ice Creams range. The Minions range, launched in spring, has been extremely successful since it hit supermarket shelves, coinciding with the release of the Minions film this summer.
After previously winning the title of “Best Licensed Food or Drink range” at the Licensing Awards in 2013 for the Star Wars lollies range, the team at Icefresh Foods were overjoyed that their dedication and hard work had paid off yet again to bring home their second trophy in three years.
Icefresh Foods, which employs 15 people, produces a variety of ice creams and desserts under licence for Weight Watchers, Hello Kitty, Star Wars, Peppa Pig and their newest addition, Minions. The company has produced private label ice cream and party foods for retailers and the food service industry for over 30 years.
Scott Wilson, Brand Licensing Manager at Icefresh Foods commented: “We’re thrilled to have won this prestigious award not only once but twice; it’s a fantastic team effort to win such a fiercely competitive category and we’re delighted that our Minions ice creams have been so popular with our peers.”
